Skhidnytsia is a small and relatively young balneological resort of Ukraine, since it has been operating as a resort only for the last 40 years.
Skhidnytsia is located in a valley on the northeastern slope of the Carpathians, 25 km from the Truskavets resort at an altitude of 500-600 meters above sea level.
Rest in Skhidnytsia is a good choice for those who are tired of city noise and just want to relax from everything. Skhidnytsia will help you feel healthy and happy. The cleanest air, the silence of a mountain village in the Carpathians and healing mineral waters – this is why people come to us from all over the world.
Recently, new ultra-modern complexes have been actively appearing in Skhidnytsia – such as modern spa hotels of the European level of 3-4 stars, which will satisfy the most demanding tourists (TAOR Karpaty Resort & Spa****, Osonnia Karpat, Kyivska Rus, Santa Maria, DiAnna , Three Sons and Daughter, Krona Hotel and Spa, Respect, Tustan), as well as private mini-hotels and small villas that have good infrastructure and where you can have a great vacation with your family for reasonable money.
Skhidnytsia is a real tourist pearl, surrounded by deciduous, coniferous and mixed forests, rich in resource reserves, mineral water sources and incredibly beautiful species.
Due to its unique similarity with alpine landscapes, the town is comfortably located in the foothills of the Carpathians, often called “Ukrainian Switzerland”.
Probably, Skhidnytsia would have remained only a picturesque village, and not a famous resort in the Carpathians, if in 1975 the teacher, engineer and researcher Omelyan Stotskyi (1894-1979) had not discovered large reserves of mineral water here. Analyzing the biography of Oleksandrovych Omelyan (and it is described in sufficient detail in the Ukrainian Wikipedia), we can conclude that the discovery of the field in Skhidnytsia was natural by him. In many sources, the story of the discovery sounds as if some local pensioner accidentally found a source of healing water somewhere in the garden.
Somehow it is forgotten that Omelyan Stotsky worked for a long time in the industrial development of oil fields, was the director and chief engineer of a gasoline plant, defended his master’s thesis in German philology, was an excellent musician and teacher. Making considerable efforts, Omelyan Stotskyi managed to collect the necessary evidence regarding the identity of Skhidnytsia water with the already known Truskavets Naftusa.
Guests of Skhidnytsia can have fun with walks, mushroom and berry picking, trout fishing and excursions.
In the vicinity of Skhidnytsia is the National Nature Park “Skolivski Beskydy”, in which areas of virgin beech and standard spruce and fir forests have been preserved, as well as many plant species from the Red Book of Ukraine.
Lovers of history and antiquities can visit the Skhidnytsia folk life museum, which is located in the school building. The museum was created by the efforts of local residents who collected exhibits related to the history of the region.
Interested tourists can take a walk to the “Tustan” nature reserve, which is named after the remains of a fortress built in the early Middle Ages.
Not far from Skhidnytsia (55 km) in the village of Medenichi is the Limpopo Zoo, which will be interesting for adults and children to visit. About 400 species of animals, collected from all corners of our planet, live in the zoo. The zoo has a playground and children’s attractions.
