Autumn in Ukraine is a great time for travel. This is the moment when it is no longer hot, but it is not too early to get dark, and the light day allows you to get a lot done.
When summer comes to an end, you want to extend it and enjoy the hot rays of the sun and the atmosphere of lightness to the maximum. So why not break away from the usual situation and go to the sea – especially since many resorts in autumn have beautiful weather for a beach holiday.
Traveling to resorts in autumn is much more pleasant than in summer. If only because the number of tourists is noticeably decreasing (due to the beginning of the new school year), and tour operators offer more favorable prices for tickets.
Since Ukraine is located in a temperate climate zone, the climate is mild and the seasons change smoothly. This has become especially noticeable in recent years against the background of the general trend towards warming. Now early Ukrainian autumn can sometimes be indistinguishable from summer, and the temperature +20 for October is the norm.If summer is the best time to conquer mountain peaks, then an autumn tour to the Carpathians will bring not only moral satisfaction, but also full baskets of forest gifts. September is the time to pick blueberries and blackberries, as well as mushrooms. Porcini mushrooms appear in October, and in September you can find a lot of boletus and thistles.
Bright, cool weather and vibrant leaves make fall the perfect time to travel. The territory of Western Ukraine has always impressed with its beauty, history, and culture. Here you can find a number of interesting natural features, from majestic mountains and lakes to rushing waterfalls and virgin forests. In addition to natural places, there are also cultural centers of mass recreation, where you can observe the symbiosis of man and nature. One of these combinations is parks in cities, as well as villages in the mountains.
Transcarpathian region Let’s start with the westernmost region of our state. Here you will find incredibly interesting places that will amaze you with their natural beauty. It is here that you can take tours both for one day and for a whole week. See medieval castles and bathe in cisterns. Shipit Waterfall This is one of the most famous and most beautiful waterfalls in Ukraine. The stream on which the waterfall was formed originates from a source on Mount Velikiy Verkh in the Borzhava mountain massif.
Lake Synevyr The largest lake of the Ukrainian Carpathians, the pearl of the mountains. This high mountain lake is located at an altitude of about 1000 m above sea level.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast When autumn comes in Ukraine, one of the best places to visit is Prykarpattia, where you can take excursions to get to know the cultural diversity of the Hutsuls, Boyks and Lemks. Bukovel Bukovel is the largest and best ski resort in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Foreigners compare it with the ski resorts of the Alps in terms of quality.
Yaremche City impresses with its traditions and originality, here you will see incredibly interesting places of the Carpathians. The city is located between mountains in the basin of the Prut River. It is on these mountains that local shepherds graze sheep and cows, from whose milk they make incredibly tasty cheese. And the local market impresses with its Hutsul flavor, there you can find real embroidered shirts, products made of sheep’s wool, various herbs, preserves, honey and, of course, cheese.
Rivne Oblast Usually Rivne Oblast is bypassed by excursions and headed to more famous destinations, but there is a lot to see here. Cockroaches During military campaigns, fortifications, fortresses and forts are needed to confront the enemy. This was the main task of the Tarakan Fort, which it successfully coped with, because it survived civil unrest, two world wars and many more skirmishes.
Mount Zakhar Berkut (Vysoky Verkh) One of the longest cable cars in Ukraine leads to Mount Zakhar Berkut, its length is 2,800 m. The ascent takes about 50 minutes one way. It is during this time that you will have time to enjoy and see beautiful places: picturesque Carpathian forests, mountains and valleys. The cable car will take you to the unforested peak of Vysoky Verkh (sometimes the mountain is called Zakhar Berkut).
