Visiting the chan-ban is becoming more and more popular. In many ways, the effect of visiting a chan-sauna is similar to the effect of ordinary bath procedures. After all, the basis of the process remains the alternation of high and low temperatures. But still, this method is the most different from other methods of steaming.
The procedure for visiting a chan-sauna is quite simple for fans of steam baths. Be sure to take a shower before the session. Then immerse yourself in the water and enjoy the union with nature and communication with loved ones or friends (because an ordinary vat accommodates 6 – 8 people). As soon as you get too hot, plunge into cold water, after which you can return to the warm water. The average duration of the session is 1 – 2 hours.

The body is warmed not by steam or heated air, but by hot water, the temperature of which gradually rises in a cast-iron bowl. Due to its physical properties, cast iron serves as the starting material – it takes a long time to heat up, but it also takes a long time to cool down. The temperature of the tank is usually 35 – 42 ºC. A vat is heated with the help of a fire, into which firewood is thrown. A special feature of a chan-bath is that it is usually located in the fresh air and provides an opportunity to combine bathing and enjoying the beauty of nature. The healing properties of the procedure are given by the use of water from mineral springs or by filling the vat during bathing with decoctions of medicinal herbs. There are various recipes for preparing healing vats: with medicinal herbs (mint, cherry, sage, nettle, rosemary and others); with coniferous extract; with rose petals; with wild berries. Using a steam bath improves blood circulation, calms the nervous system, helps to get rid of insomnia, rejuvenates the body, and strengthens the immune system.

A hot tub in the Carpathians is something that no vacation in the Carpathians can do without today. After all, a thermal bath is not only pleasant, but also useful. Various herbs or essential oils can be added to the tank, the aroma of which has a positive effect on the body as a whole, helps to relax and calm down after a stressful day. A large metal cauldron, which can accommodate 4-5 people, is located in a cozy corner under the open sky. Guests can choose for themselves an unforgettable relaxing holiday in the Carpathians, in the fresh air with an incredible view of the mountains. The chan is heated with firewood in a closed oven from below and the guests, in this way, seem to be cooking in a giant cauldron. Aromatic oils or Carpathian herbs are added to the purified and filtered mountain water at the guests’ request. Nearby is a tub of cold water, in which you can immerse yourself completely or pour yourself over from a mug (the principle of contrasting bathing, as in a bath). The dressing room is warm, there are sheets, towels, slippers, everything you need for a comfortable rest.
Chan is not only steaming, it is the improvement of our body, and here we must do everything correctly and follow the necessary rules.
Steaming in a tank has a rejuvenating effect on the body, has a positive effect on the general physical condition of a person, especially on the cardiovascular and nervous systems, musculoskeletal system and brings many other benefits. If there are no contraindications due to the state of health, then you can climb into the tank.

What you need to know about chan, contraindications
If you have contraindications to steaming, you should know about it yourself. Those who do not tolerate a hot bath may be the same with a vat, but for example there are many people who are intolerant to a bath, sauna or sauna, and a vat is completely comfortably tolerated. The most common contraindications are cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory processes in the body and locomotor diseases. It is also possible to take into account that some vats may contain water of different degrees of mineralization, and at your request, a decoction of needles, bark, roots, twigs, leaves, oats, and various medicinal flowers and herbs can be added to the vat. If there is an individual sensitivity to a certain plant, then you can steam without a decoction. You can ask the owner of the tank about all the features.
It should be comfortable in the tank!
Such a tank should be chosen so that you can comfortably sit and lie on your back at an angle and the water covers up to the line of the heart. Briefly, the chest should be opened, without covering it with water. If the vat is narrowed to the top and has a small angle of inclination for the back, and you have to sit almost vertically with water up to your neck, this will create an additional load on the heart, then it is better to refuse such a vat and choose a more comfortable one with a good seating position in the middle of the vat.
What is it, the process of steaming in a tank?
First of all, it is recommended to remove metal jewelry before steaming, as metals have a very fast temperature transfer. We descend gradually and smoothly into the middle of the tank, take a comfortable position and start the steaming process, adjust the most comfortable water temperature. Let’s relax body and soul, enjoying the process of health steaming. You can also immerse the heart and head in hot water for a short time to normalize the temperature of the body, but this is only for those who are suitable. On average, steaming most people in a tank takes about an hour, and every 15 minutes dousing or diving in cold water.
Hardening in a tank is quite real!
The hardening procedure goes through a process of immersion in hot water and moderate steaming, after which the body must be cooled with snow or cold water. We wipe with snow if there is, in the absence of snow we switch to cold water. Cold water is placed differently for each owner, it can be either in a bucket for pouring, or next to it in a barrel, a pool, or in any container, even in a similar tank for cold water.
Steaming in a tank is a combination of useful and pleasant. It is better to try once than to see or hear a hundred times. We wish you a successful steaming and add recommended popular tanks in our region.
